Joseph Medill letter to S. S. McClure [manuscript], 1893 Sep 8.

In response to McClure's letter of the 29th, he writes that a number of biographical sketches of his life have appeared in newspapers, magazines and biographical books, none of them written by him. He adds that his "desire is to wait until after passing the portal that leads to the other life and then my friends can write what they want about the 'life and career.'"
